You're invited to become a member of a unique circle of friends....
Camp Carolwood is a year round camp and retreat facility owned and operated by the Statesville District of the Western North Carolina Methodist Conference. Serving groups, Methodist churches and other denominations, and college and community organizations without regard to race, disability, or economic status. The Friends of Carolwood Club Fifty Plus fund is an ongoing annual gifts program designed to provide funding to develop new lodging and program facilities. These capital funds are separate and different than apportionments paid by our Churches, which are used for the redevelopment of existing facilities. The vision of the Long Range Development Committee is to provide a comprehensive development program that will insure the Camp's stability and service for another 60 years. We believe this vision is consistent with the vision of those who established the Camp before many of us were born. We are asking you to be part of a dream for generations yet unborn, who will be nurtured and called by God in this place.
You are invited to become a member of a unique circle of friends.
Since 1958 CAMP CAROLWOOD has drawn gatherings of God's family from across North Carolina, children, youth, adults, families, churches, schools, colleges and community organizations.
The Friends of Carolwood Club 50+ Fund continues and enhances the original Club 50 and Adopt An Acre Program. It takes us into the future and provides you an opportunity to creatively unite the love, energy, and resources of those whom God had blessed in this place. The opportunity is to insure the continuance of Camp Carolwood's heritage of spiritual enrichment for generations to come.
Your gift will make possible new facilities that reflect the spirit of Camp Carolwood's historic beginnings.
We encourage you to enrich your life and the lives of others by becoming a participant in this vision through...THE FRIENDS OF CAMP CAROLWOOD CLUB 50+ FUND!

The Holy Ground of Camp Carolwood
We live in a noisy world. It's hard to think and pray when your ears hurt. Camp Carolwood is a place of prayer. It's quiet there. God seems close.
We live in a Jerry Springer-type of tabloid world. Excitement and entertainment get close to having our priorities. That is, ifwe have any energy left after working many hours. Camp Carolwood was built by people who loved God and wanted others to move through the froth of life to the real substance of God's love and Christ's grace. Camp Carolwood is a spirit born place. You can feel it. God seems close.
We live in a world where we are told not to take Jesus and our faith too seriously. It might get in the way of our getting ahead or getting it done. People would talk.
Camp Carolwood was established by people who understood how difficult it is to follow Jesus. For the purpose of asking Jesus to help us see again - to laugh again - to link with others in Christ's name again - Camp Carolwood came into being in the late 1950's.
Spiritual power lies at the foot of Carolwood Mountain. You can feel it. God is close.
Put away the gadgets for awhile. Forget about traffic. Walk with your children and your teens through a clear stream or fish the Yadkin River. Play a game ofbasketball or take a swim. By all means, take your Bible and read in the quiet of the morning.
Camp Carolwood is all about essentials of our faith. Prayer, renewal, relaxation. ..God finding us. Our finding a better part of us. The Camp is about the essentials. It calls people who are forgetters. That's why Camp Carolwood is such a good place for youth groups, children's retreats, and classes of all sorts.
Go there and you will remember the important stuff. You can feel it. God is close. And you will come to remember what it was which was so precious long ago.
