The following polices have been approved by the Board of Directors of Camp Carolwood, Inc. 2002
Reservations
Reservations for weekend use will be accepted one (1) year in advance from United Methodist Churches within the Statesville District. All other groups may reserve nine (9) months in advance.
A reservation cannot be confirmed until a deposit equal to 1/4 of the estimated total is received.
No reservation will be held more than two (2) weeks without a deposit.
Deposits (less a $25.00 processing fee) are refundable with 45 days notice of cancellation provided the dates are booked by another group.
The camp Director should be notified of changes in reservations as soon as possible.
Written confirmation will be given within two (2) weeks after the application is received.
The entire camp may be reserved by a guaranteed reservation of 84 persons.
For groups reserving a week for summer Camp, a $300.00 deposit is required in addition, a payment equaling at least $30.00 per camper is due two (2) weeks prior to the first day of the camp week.
General
Check-in time is 4:00 PM. Check-out time is 2:30 PM. Any changes will require special arrangements to be made in advance with the camp Director.
When multiple groups are using the camp, the camp director will assign cabins and schedule the use of conmmn facilities.
Groups are responsible for cleaning the camp prior to departure. Each group will leave the buildings clean and ready for the next group. Failure to clean adequately will result in an additional clean-up charge.
The camp director or a designated representative will check the facilities with a group member prior to the groups departure. Groups will be financially responsible for damages and br inadequate cleaning.
The camp reserves the right to charge for damages or cleaning required.
Vehicles are restricted to maintained roads and designated parking areas. USE OF TRAIL BIKES OR OTHER OFF ROAD VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED
No live trees are to be cut or damaged in any way.
No plants are dug or removed from camp property.
Firearms and fireworks are prohibited.
No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are permitted.
Fires will be built only in areas designated for such use. Other areas may sometimes be used with prior approval from the camp director. Fires will be attended at all times by a group member and properly extinguished when campfire activities are completed.
The camp telephone is for the camp business and emergency use only.
Fishing is permitted by registered guests only. All conservation laws apply.
No hunting is allowed.
All equipment must be returned to its proper place.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool will be available during the summer season. Exact dates of availability will be June 1 through September 15.
Groups will provide a qualified lifeguard with a current American Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving certification or equivalent unless other arrangements are made with the Camp director at least two (2) weeks prior to the groups use of the facility.
The ratio for swimmers to lifeguards is 25:1. There shall never be more than 25 swimmers in the pool unless there are two (2) lifeguards present. The maximum capacity in the swimming pool is 50, regardless of the number of lifeguards.
The lifeguard will see that the pool gate is securely locked after each use. He/She will also report any faulty equipment, damages, or accidents immediately to the camp director.
Use of the swimming pool will be allowed ONLY when lifeguard(s) are on duty. Any use of the swimming pool during unauthorized times will not be tolerated.
IN THE EVENT OF DISREGARD OF THESE POLICIES, PERSONS OR GROUPS MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CAMP PROPERTY, IN SUCH CASES, FULL PAYMENT OF SCHEDULED TIME WILL BE REQUIRED.
